Each revival began when ordinary people encountered an extraordinary God. But what if the next move of God isn’t in the past—it’s in our homes, our schools, and our church?
Discipleship Isn’t Accidental
The book of Judges describes a sobering moment:
“A new generation grew up that had not personally experienced the Lord’s presence or seen what he had done for Israel.” — Judges 2:10
They knew about God but didn’t know Him. They followed other gods instead. The same danger faces us today. Many young people aren’t rejecting God—they’re just not encountering Him.
Jesus didn’t tell us to make converts; He told us to make disciples.
“Go and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” — Matthew 28:19–20
If the mission of the Church is to make disciples, then the next generation isn’t a side project—they’re the mission field.
The Two Failures of Legacy
1. Rejecting the Next Generation
When people brought children to Jesus, His disciples tried to stop them. But Jesus said,
“Let the little children come to me… for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
— Matthew 19:14
The same mistake happens when we treat young people as distractions instead of disciples in the making.
2. Rejecting the New Ways
“No one pours new wine into old wineskins.”
— Luke 5:37
The message of the Gospel never changes—but the methods must.
Every generation needs new wineskins for the same timeless truth.
So what can you do?
Faith isn’t just taught—it’s caught.
Research shows:
11%
of parents say their goal is to pass on a faith-filled life.
34%
of parents never talk about faith.
44%
of Christian parents think the church should stay out of parenting.
But Scripture calls parents to lead spiritually.
“Raise your children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” — Ephesians 6:4
This mission is bigger than any one family. It takes a village—and a church family—to raise a generation in faith.
The prophet Joel declared,
“I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy…”
— Joel 2:28
The Spirit of God is not limited by age. The next revival won’t come to the next generation—it will come through them.
At CLF, our mission is to lead people to live Christ-centered lives.
And we believe the greatest move of God isn’t behind us—it’s rising up among us.
So let’s imagine a church whose next generation is on fire.
